Starita a Materdei, which began in 1901 as a cellar, turns into a wine and traditional food tasting place towards the end of the 40s up to becoming little by little a trattoria and pizzeria-friggitoria.
And it is as a friggitoria that appears in the movie "L'oro di Napoli" (1954), when it was used for the making of the episode where Sophia Loren wore the cloak of a beautiful and adulterous pizzaiola.
Years later the place turns into a proper pizzeria following the best Neapolitan tradition.
Such a commitment earned the place among the others awards from the Pope in 2000 and from many training schools in the last years, where Mr Starita teaches white art.
Regard to ingredients, commitment for the job and courtesy make Starita at Materdei a place we warmly suggest to everybody.
