Mercantina Chiado

Mercantina is a restaurant/pizzeria in Lisbon located in a very well known neighborhood – Chiado. Nestled cosily between Bairro Alto and Pombalina, the Chiado district of Lisbon exudes an old-world charm which some areas of the Portuguese capital seem to have lost forever. Chiado, has its roots dating back to the Romans. With Lisbon´s abysmal earthquake of 1755, the great rebuilding of Lisbon allowed for an expansion of the Chiado area. The shopping and dining options in Chiado are splendid, and the suburb is home to many celebrated museums, theatres and fado houses, as well as more than a few historic shops dating back over 100 years. While Lisbon is certainly not short of historical sites and buildings, Chiado still stands out among the rest as the most charming and authentic area in the whole city
Mercantina has in its concept the use of fresh products from the market. Mercantina is a pizzeria only uses Italian products such as San Marzano tomatoes, Italian Flour, Italian cheese (Mozzarella di Bufola, Ricotta, Gorgonzola, Pecorino and Parmigiano) and Italian delicatessen (Prosciutto di Parma, Bresaola, Mortadella, Salame Napoli Piccante, Coppa). The Pizzas are made in a wood oven purchased from Napoli.
Mercantina has thankfully been visited by people of cinema, theater, politic, economy and varied families, among many others, and this diversity makes us very proud.
